Note: we tried to add potato cubes and it messed everything up! Maybe the potato absorbed some flavors but not others and screwed up the balance....

She started the onion from cold in the pan (alton brown style) for 10 minutes. ** ask her more about this.
+ used a mix of mint and dill (about the amount in the recipe)
+ used between 1/2 and 1 cup of half-and-half (instead of cream)
We didn't use home broth for the whole thing. 2 cups were water.
